EcomTools Privacy Policy

This policy covers EcomTools for iOS. The app does not require a Daricate account. Local features, model downloads and optional product lookup are explained separately below.

1. Controller and contact

2. Data on your device

Your shop profile, preferences, calculations, products, stock movements, suppliers, expenses and chat history are stored in local app storage. Imported photos, videos and audio, projects, transcripts and exports are processed locally. The editor creates local media copies for its projects.

Local AI chat and the editor’s AI commands use a model downloaded to your device. Auto Captions uses a bundled speech model. These local operations do not send your input or media to Daricate or an AI provider. There is no Daricate cloud storage or automatic seller-account synchronisation.

3. No cloud AI and no sharing with AI services

Chat, listing drafts and the editor’s AI commands run exclusively on a model stored on your device. Auto Captions uses a speech model bundled inside the app. EcomTools contains no cloud AI feature and no way to save an AI provider or your own API key.

No prompt, chat history, image, video, audio file or document is transmitted to Groq, OpenAI, OpenRouter or any other AI service. A missing or unavailable local model produces an error message rather than processing outside your device.

4. Model downloads and product lookup

When you download a local AI model, the app connects to Hugging Face and its download infrastructure. Hugging Face processes technical connection information, particularly your IP address, and logs model downloads. Its documented download logs also include a coarse location derived from the IP address, such as country or region. These downloads do not require a Hugging Face account. Chat messages, projects and media are not attached to this download request.

When you use barcode product lookup, the scanned or entered barcode is sent to Open Food Facts together with technical connection information. A camera image is not uploaded for this lookup.

5. Permissions, notifications and sharing

Photo and file access lets you import the items you choose; the camera supports scanning and capture features. Photo write access is used to save results. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

Stock alerts are generated from local product data and shown as local notifications. Product names may appear on the lock screen. The app does not send a push token to a Daricate server for these alerts.

When you share an export or save to a cloud folder, the recipient or service you select receives that file. Device backups and synchronised photo or file storage are governed by your settings with Apple or the relevant provider.

6. Analytics, advertising and payments

EcomTools currently includes no advertising and sends no usage events to an analytics SDK. Dashboard statistics are calculated from your locally stored business records. EcomTools does not track you across apps or websites.

The app currently has no active subscription or in-app purchase processing. Any purchase of the app is handled through Apple; Daricate does not receive full payment details from it.

7. Support and this website

If you email us, we process your sender address, message and any voluntary attachments to handle the request. Messages reach our iCloud mailbox, involving the email service. Please do not send unnecessary confidential information.

Visiting this website involves technical access data used for delivery and security. The EcomTools pages themselves include no analytics or advertising scripts and no contact form. The Daricate website’s privacy notice provides further information about website operation.

8. Purposes, legal bases and retention

Where we process personal data, providing requested app functions and handling support requests is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Technical security and preventing abuse rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f). Legally required retention is based on Article 6(1)(c). You may withdraw separately given consent for the future.

Local app data remains on your device until removed through available delete controls or by deleting the app. Exported files and device backups require separate management. Support messages are retained as long as necessary to handle and follow up the request or meet legal obligations. Retention by external service providers is governed by their respective privacy and retention policies.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. You may also complain to a data protection authority.

Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights. Daricate cannot remotely access or delete projects or chats stored only on your device. For data from visits to external provider websites, you may also use those providers’ privacy controls and contacts.
